The Baguette arrived in 1997 and within two years Fendi was producing versions like this, all-over hand-applied beading in iridescent lilac, black python leather trim, the FF buckle in black and gold. It is maximalist in the way only the late 90s could justify and it has aged in the way only the best pieces do, completely. The colour shifts depending on the light. The python trim catches differently again. There is nothing subtle about it and that was never the point.

Condition

Very Good Vintage — gently used, with wear consistent with age.

What to know: some softening and slight stretching around the sides where the beadwork meets the python trim, consistent with the natural movement of vintage beaded pieces over time. All beading intact throughout. Python trim, FF buckle and gold hardware in excellent condition.

Fair — Worn with life. Noticeable scuffs, tarnished hardware or surface marks. For the collector who appreciates a piece with a past, or wants a restoration project.
