Some businesses start with a business plan. Inherited started with a flight to Japan.
After years working in the fashion industry, I already knew how to look at clothes — really look at them. But it wasn't until I discovered vintage bags that I found what I'd actually been looking for. The craftsmanship. The history. The feeling of holding something from a Galliano-era Dior show or a Stephen Sprouse collaboration that the fashion world is only now fully appreciating.
Japan changed everything. The vintage market there is unlike anything in Australia — meticulous owners, careful storage, pieces that have been loved and preserved with a level of care that's rare anywhere else in the world. I saw what was available. I saw what collectors in Australia had access to by comparison. And I saw the gap.
There was nowhere in Australia offering truly sought-after, curator-selected vintage designer bags without the stress of wondering whether what you were buying was real. No authentication you could trust. No expertise behind the curation. Just marketplaces full of question marks.
So I started Inherited to be exactly that place.
What we stand for.
Every bag in the archive is hand-selected — not everything makes the cut. We partner with Legit Grails for AI-powered authentication and include a certificate of authenticity with every purchase. We source primarily in Japan. And we describe every piece with complete honesty about condition, because we'd rather you buy with full confidence than buy with doubt.
This is not a marketplace. It's an archive. And every piece in it is here because it deserves to be.

I started Inherited because I wanted to share the obsession — not just the bags.
There is something genuinely thrilling about finding a rare piece. About knowing the era it came from, the designer behind it, the cultural moment it represents. I want everyone who shops with Inherited to feel that. To feel like they're not just buying a bag, but acquiring something with a story worth knowing.
Two years in, that hasn't changed. I still source every piece personally. I still authenticate everything before it's listed. And I still get unreasonably excited every time something extraordinary comes through.
