In 2000 John Galliano sent Gisele Bündchen and Rhea Durham down the Dior runway carrying this exact bag. The Malice Pearl in frayed denim, the cannage quilting deconstructed into raw edges and frayed squares, the Christian Dior gold half-moon plaque at the front, the beaded patent leather strap. It is a runway piece in the truest sense, designed to be seen, designed to be remembered. Twenty five years later it still stops the room. The collectors who know Galliano's Dior know exactly what this is. The ones who don't are about to find out.
Condition
Very Good — gently used, with wear consistent with age.
What to know: the strap has been professionally adjusted — it has been cut to a fixed shoulder drop of 20cm which sits at the perfect shoulder length. The strap is no longer adjustable but wears beautifully. Frayed denim body, gold hardware and beaded strap detail all intact throughout.
