The Papillon is one of Louis Vuitton's most architecturally distinct silhouettes — a cylindrical top-handle that has never quite looked like anything else the house produces. This 2003 example in Damier Ebène canvas is already a collector's piece on its own. What makes this one singular is the hand-painted artwork applied directly to the canvas — an irrepeatable artist intervention that transforms an archive classic into something genuinely one of a kind.

Condition
Very Good Vintage — exceptionally well maintained for a piece over twenty years old.
What's perfect: canvas, leather trim, structure, interior, zipper function throughout.
What to know: gold-tone zipper hardware shows minor surface wear with slight fading on the finish — consistent with age and does not affect function. The zipper glides smoothly. This is the only area of wear on an otherwise immaculate example.

Fair — Worn with life. Noticeable scuffs, tarnished hardware or surface marks. For the collector who appreciates a piece with a past, or wants a restoration project.
